Introduction to Mapping Census Data in R (Hands-on Session)
October 11, 2016 – Room 110A – 2-4pm

Learn to use R, the open source software environment for statistical computing and graphics, to map US Census and World Bank data. We will combine best practices for mapping with best practices for data visualization to create a meaningful and accessible representation of the data. The process of mapping census data can easily be translated to mapping other data connected to countries, states, counties and cities. Workshop led by Humanities Librarian David Beales.

Introduction to Mapping Coordinate Data in R (Hands-on Session)
October 18, 2016 – Room 110A – 2-4pm

Learn to use R, the open source software environment for statistical computing and graphics, to map data that includes latitude and longitude coordinates. We will combine best practices for mapping with best practices for data visualization to create a meaningful and accessible representation of the data. The process of mapping coordinate data will be applied to a variety of scales and types of information. Workshop led by Humanities Librarian David Beales.
